Got Grit? Champ Wins Mayors Marathon
Conratulations to Erik Johnson, the 2010 Got Grit 5K champ, on winning the Mayors Marathon in Alaska. Johnson, a native of Seward, Alaska, now resides in Hillsborough, NC. Click here for the article on his victory.
The First Annual Got Grit 5K
The Got Grit 5K and 1 Mile was a great success. Over 350 runners and walkers "sucked it up" in the heat and on the hills to support our local students. Erik Johnson and Indy Reid-Shaw were the overall winners in the first annual event with times of 17:32 and 21:53 respectively.
Ebenezer Baptist Church did a great job hosting the event and cooking up breakfast.
Thanks to all the runners, walkers, sherriff department, and volunteers for making this event a success.
The date for the 2011 Got Grit? 5K is May 14th, 2011.
